WWE Smackdown - Reading, Pennsylvania - 01-02-08

Theodore Long is in the ring and he says he’s in charge tonight because Vicky Guererro was injured at the Royal Rumble. He says there’s going to be an elimination chamber match at No Way Out and who wins it will go on to face the champion at Wrestlemania. The 6 competitors in the chamber will be Batista, The great Khali, Finlay, M.V.P, Big Daddy V and The Undertaker.

Now he says that Edge will fight Rey Mysterio again at Now Way and the winner will be the champion that will face the winner of the elimination chamber.

Edge comes out and says he doesn’t want to fight Rey Mysterio! Teddy Long says “tough, I’m in charge!”

First match: Ric Flair Vs M.V.P (Career threatening match)

Ric Flair wins by disqualification. M.V.P had flair in a reverse figure 4 leg log and wouldn’t break it after the 5 count.
VERDICT: 0/5 Not much of a match. I don’t want to bash Ric Flair but give it up Flair! He’s to old to be wrestling and it shows!

After the match M.V.P started attacking Flairs leg by hitting it off the ring post etc. Very predictable!

Chuck Palumbo comes to the ring and says that him and Michelle McCool were getting on fine till Jamie Noble came along and ruined it.He says he enjoyed beating up Jamie Noble but what happened to McCool was an accident. He says the WWE has fined him $10,000 for hitting a referee and wants to apologise because he enjoyed hammering Noble but wants to say sorry to Michelle McCool publicly and asks her to come out.

Out she comes and throws his apology back at him and slaps him. Palumbo says he’s going to take that out on Jamie Noble.

This storyline just won’t die! It’s not getting any more interesting either! Boooo!

Second match: Rey Mysterio & CM Punk Vs Chavo Guerrero & Edge

CM Punk pins Chavo after the Go To Sleep.

VERDICT: 2/5 I liked this! All four guys are great in the ring so this was bound to be good. Wasn’t really any high points, just good action all the way through.

Third match: Deuce & Domino Vs Finlay & Hornswoggle

Hornswoggle pins Domino after the tadpole splash

VERDICT: 0/5 These Hornswoggle matches are just boring now! I like Finlay but he’s loosing creditabitily every week as far as I’m concerned. Someone please fire Hornswoggle! The novelty has gone!

Eve Torres the Diva search winner is in the ring and interviews Batista. She asks how he feels about being in the elimination chamber match.

He says he’s going to win the chamber match and go on to Wrestlemania and slams the mic down.

VERDICT: -1,000,000. Batista couldn’t fire up a gas stove with a flame thrower and Eve Torres is no diva! The dog wouldn’t even drag her in!! If ever i wanted to see the ring collapse it was during this piece of shit segment!

Jesse is standing between the 2 Festus pictures again. Just so we know, Festus is a brand new man and feels better than ever because the doctors have cured him and will be back next week. Meh! Who cares!

Fourth match: Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder Vs Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moor

Hawkins and Ryder win after a 3 count.

VERDICT: 2/10 Good match! Very entertaining. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moor are really good. Hawkins and Ryder are surprisingly getting really good too.

Fifth match: Kane & The Undertaker Vs Big Daddy V & Mark Henry

The Undertaker makes Mark Henry tap out with his new submission move.

VERDICT: 2/5 This was going to be a good match no matter what happened in it! The Undertaker & Kane are always good when they’re together. Mark Henry and Big Daddy V did a good job in this match too.

OVERALL VERDICT: 2/5 This was a really good smackdown! The only thing that let it down was Chuck Palumbo and Batista being as unentertaining as ever and Hornswoggle winning again.
