WWE Smackdown - Hershey, Pennsylvania - 01-08-08

This weeks Smackdown starts off with Jeff Hardy coming down to ringside and taking a seat to watch the first match.

First match: M.V.P Vs Jimmy Wang Yang

M.V.P wins with the big kick to the head.

After the match Jeff Hardy gets in to the ring and tells M.V.P that he took what he said to him last week like a man but if he ever says anything to him about his home going on fire or his dog again he’ll show him what kind of a man he is. Then he gives him a twist of fate!

VERDICT: 1/5 The match was pretty much just a glorified squash match. The thing at the end when Hardy got in to the ring was quite good though.

Second match: Mr. Kennedy Vs Shelton Benjamin

Mr. Kennedy wins with the mic check.

VERDICT: 2/5 This was a great match! Loads of back and forth and counter moves and fast paced!

Third match: Bryan Kendrick Vs Stevie Richards

Before the match Bryan Kendrick says that he only tagged with Paul London to get his foot in the door and that he doesn’t care about any of the fans and if anyone has a problem with that they can talk to his bodyguard Ezekiel.

Brian Kendrick pins Richards after hitting the Kendrick.

After the match Ezekiel puts Stevie Richards in a back breaker.

VERDICT: 1/5 Not too bad for a squash match! Nothing very entertaining though!

Forth match: The Great Khali Vs Jeff Hardy (No DQ match)

The great Khali wins with the vice grip after Jeff gets distracted by M.V.P who came down to ringside.

VERDICT: 1/5 Apart from the odd flurry from Jeff Hardy the match was all Khali!

Fifth match: Maria Vs Victoria

Maria pins Victoria after a flying clothesline.

VERDICT: 0/5 Better than your average Maria match but still not worth watching!

Sixth match: The Big Show Vs Domino

The Big Show wins Obviously!

After the match Umaga came down to the ring and they just stared at each other.

VERDICT: 0/5 Just a total squash match!

The Cutting Edge: Mick Foley

Edge starts off by saying that he’s dreading his match with the Undertaker at Summerslam but he’s found someone who knows The Undertaker better than anyone else who can help him out. He announces a surprised Mick Foley as his guest and asks him to the ring.

Edge then shows a video of the Hell in a Cell match that Mick Foley had with the Undertaker 10 years ago. A “foley” chant starts up in the crowd. Edge then asks Foley for his help against the Undertaker saying that he’s never been the same since that match with the Undertaker.

Foley then gives Edge one of the best motivational speeches I’ve heard in the WWE for years telling Edge that he needs to toughen up or the Undertaker will tear him apart! Edge then attacks Foley and beats the stuffing out of him adn puts him through a table.

VERDICT: 3/5 I really enjoyed this bit! It was drama! If you didn’t see it you probably think it sounds boring but it wasn’t!

OVERALL VERDICT: 1/5 Overall this weeks Smackdown wasn’t very entertaining at all! In fact apart from the Kennedy match and the Edge and Foley thing at the end it was a big waste of time!
