WWE Smackdown - Grand Rapids, Michigan - 17-05-08

Surprise surprise this weeks Smackdown starts with Edge, Vicky, Chavo, Hawkins & Ryder and Van Neely coming to the ring. Edge goes on about he’s going to beat the Undertaker etc etc when Teddy Longs Music hits and he comes striding down to the ring only to get a telling off from Vicky for being late for the show. Teddy says that the reason he was late was because he was at WWE headquarters having a meeting with WWE management about Vicky’s decision to strip the belt from the Undertaker and they weren’t too happy with her!

He takes out a letter addressed to Vicky that he was asked to deliver to her pubicly. The letter says the board are going to deliver disiplinary action against her. She has a choice of either competing in a match on Smackdown tonight or stand down as general manager of Smackdown. Vicky, slightly miffed by this news fires Teddy Long on the spot but Teddy long tells her she doesn’t need to fire him because he quits. He leaves the ring and then says that her opponent tonight will be the Undertaker!

VERDCT: 3/5 Wow, that’s what i call a start to the show!

First match: CM Punk Vs Chuck Palumbo

CM Punk wins with the GTS.

VERDICT: 2/5 Not a bad match to start the night off. Quite a good one in fact! Pretty fast paced match which was non stop from start to finish.

Backstage: M.V.P Finlay and Big Show complain to Vicky Guerrero abotu the championship chase last week and how edge won it. Vicky tells M.V.P to get himself a partner for tonight because he’s going to be facing the Big Show and Finlay.

Second match: Michelle McCool Vs Layla

Michelle McCool Makes Layla tap out.

VERDICT: 1/5 Quite an enjoyable match. I can’t explain how it was enjoyable though! It was pretty boring actually but it looked better than your typical diva match.

Batista comes tot eh ring and grabs a microphone. Ohhh no! He challenges Shawn Michaels to a match at Judgement Day. I’m sure i saw tumbelweed going past! He killed that! He shouldn’t be allowed near a microphone!!

Third match: Big Show & Finlay Vs M.V.P & Mark Henry

Big Show pins M.V.P after the Choke Slam.

VERDICT: 1/5 A bit of a boring match to be honest! It was hardly riviting. My mind started wandering half way through it and that isn’t good!

Backstage: Vicky Guerrero says she can’t cancel her match with tThe Undertaker tonight but she can change it. She now makes it a 6 on 1 match. The Undertaker Vs Vicky, Chavo, Edge, Bodyguard, Hawkins & Ryder.

VERDICT:0/5 Booooooooooooo!!!!!! I was looking forward to the match till this happened!

Forth Match: Vladimir Kozlov Vs Funaki

Kozlov wins

VERDICT: 0/5 This guy sucks! I’m fed up of his endless squash matches!

Fifth match: Cherry Vs Maryse

Cherry Pins Maryse after a bulldog.

VERDICT: 1/5 Gets a point only because both these divas are smoking hot! Phwarrrrrr!

Sixth match: Matt Hardy Vs Shelton Benjamin

Matt Hardy pins Benjamin after the Twist Of Fate.

VERDICT: 1/5 I didn’t like this match much! I don’t know why it was crap but it was pretty boring! It should have been good but it wasn’t.

Seventh match: The Undertaker Vs Vicky Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, Ban Neely, Edge, Kurt Hawkins & Zach Ryder

Vicky and co leave the ring so no one wins.

VERDICT: 1/5 The Undertaker was good as always but this was a total rip off!! Boooooooooo! Also, there was no sign of Chavo or his bodyguard.

OVERALL VERDICT: 1/5 This weeks Smackdown started off with a bang but didn’t really go anywhere after that! In fact it just went down hill from the start. It was still better than the average Raw show though!
