WWE Smackdown - Cleveland, Ohio - 07-03-08

Vicky Guererro and Edge are in the ring for the start of this weeks Smackdown.

Edge starts of by saying that Wrestlemania 24 is shaping up to be one of the most depressing events in WWE history (that’s the truest words he’s ever spoken!) because The Undertakers Wrestlemania winning streak is coming to an end and Ric Flairs career will come to a halt.

Ric Flair is Edges guest this week and out he comes. Edge starts by saying that at Wretlemania Shawn Michaels will beat Ric Flair and his career will be over. Ric Flair says no he won’t, he’s going to win. Edge then says “yeah right, and after Wrestlemania there will be peace in the middle east and Brittany Spears will start wearing underwear” Ric Flair goes on to call Edges relationship with Vicky a sham and and says that Edge should worry more about his match at Wresltemania than his match.

Vicky Guerrero then makes a match for next week. Rick Flair, Zach Ryder & Edge Vs Ric Flair in a 3 on 1 handicap match in a steel cage!

VERDICT: 2/5 This was a good segment until the announcement of the steel cage match next week. Both Edge and Flair had a good verbal exchange and it was very entertaining. That steel cage match is just dumb though!

First match: Chavo Guerrero, Mizz & Morrison Vs CM Punk, Jesse & Festus

Festus pins The Mizz

VERDICT: 1/5 Quite entertaining match even though nothing much happened in it. Festus made the match as usual but Jesse seems to be starting to come in to his own a little more. Good fun.

Backstage: Jamie Noble lets Michelle McCool off the hook saying that women loves him and he loves women so he can’t have a relationship with her even though he knows how badly she wants one.

Second match: M.V.P Vs Batista (united states championship match)

M.V.P wins by count out.

VERDICT: 2/5 This was a good match. It was competitive and entertaining to watch. Both guys seems to work well together although I’d say that M.V.P carried Batista through most of the match, still Batista put on a good show though. I was pleasantly surprised by this match.

Backstage: Jamie Noble goes up to Vicky Guererro and demands a match with Chuck Palumbo. Vicky says “why? he’s much bigger than you and he’s beaten you twice already!” Jamie Noble says he’s not afraid of anyone no matter how big they are so Vicky puts him against the big show. “Darn Vicky why you do this to me, tarnation Vicky”

VERDICT: 2/5 Jamie Noble is funny!

Diva Swimsuit contest: Eve Torres, Cherry, Maryse, Victoria, Michelle McCool

There wasn’t a winner announced so i don’t know! I’d say Cherry was the sexiest tho!

VERDICT: What in the fuck was this?!?! They all stripped down to their swimsuits and then started pushing and shoving each other! I’m glad i was alone when i was watching this because it was embarrassing! Having said that they were still very sexy and it was nice to finely see some of Cherry! This was pointless in the extreme! But the women looked sexy! I really don’t know what to make of it! :S

Third match: Kane Vs Chuck Palumbo

Kane pins Palumbo after a chokeslam.

VERDICT: 2/5 Wow, Chuck Palumbo managed to put on a pretty good match! He was on top for nearly all of this match. It was a pretty convincing performance too. Kane still beat him though I’m happy to say!

Forth Match: Jamie Noble Vs The Big Show

Jamie Noble wins by Disqualification. He punched Big Show in the balls.

After the match Big Show punched Jamie Noble in the guts a few times and Noble started Bleeding from the mouth.

VERDICT: 1/5 There was no match, it only lasted about 2 minutes but for some reason i liked it!

After the match Big Show said “the people don’t much like me but they like Floyd Mayweather even less” (very true) then went on to say how he’d beat him etc etc.

Fifth match: The Undertaker Vs Edge, Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins (3 against 1 match)

VERDICT: 3/5 I thought this was a great match! Only The Undertaker could make a match like this look confinsing but it really was good!

Of course it ended because of triple teaming on The Undertaker but it was still a clean victory and there wasn’t the usual beat down after the match.

OVERALL VERDICT: 2/5 Overall this was a very good Smackdown! The divas thing made a bit of a mockery of it but there was really no boring bits in it. Well, except for the Wrestlemania build up segments but that’s to e expected and they can be fast forwarded past.
