WWE Smackdown - Charlotte, North Carolina - 18-07-08

This weeks Smackdown starts off with highlights of Edge and Vicky’s wedding at the church.

The platform at the top of the ramp in the arena is done up like a wedding chapel with tables and flowers and everything is white. Edge, Vicky, Chavo, Bam, Hawkins & Ryder are going through the wedding bullshit! This is going to be a really bad smackdown i just know it! The crowd seems to think so too!

There’s speeches going on and I feel sick watching it!

Apparently This wedding scene is going to stay at the top of the stage all night.

First match: Finlay & Hornswoggle Vs Hawkins & Ryder (Edge is the special referee)

Before the match Edge says that every week Finlay and Hornswoggle cheat in their matches so this week he’s going to be the special referee.

Edge, Hawkins & Ryder come to the ring in their wedding clothes.

Hawkins pins Finlay after Edge spears him.

VERDICT: 0/5 Words fail me! This weeks show is off to the worst posible start!

Back a the wedding farce at the top of the stage Edge and Vicky are having their first dance as a married couple. The big show comes out and cuts in to the dance and starts dancing with Vicky. Edge takes exception and tells Show to get to the ring for his match.

Second match: Shelton Benjamin, Vladimir Koslov, M.V.P & The Great Khali Vs The Big Show (4 on 1 handycapped match)

No contest after all 4 guys started beating up the Big Show.

VERDICT: 0/5 Give me a break! This was just a squash match. Pointless!!

Vicky is in the ring and says that she’s going to throw her bouquet for one of the divas to catch. The crowd hates Vicky! So do I! A fight breaks out between Michelle McCool and someone else outside the ring. Cherry catches the bouquet and Vicky says that Cherry has won the chance to face her (Vicky) in a match but only if she can beat Natalya.

Natalya kills Cherry in about a minute.

VERDICT: 0/5 I don’t know what the hell was going on here. It was disgusting though. A total waste of time. I hate Smackdown!!

Third match: Brian Kendrick Vs Jimmy Wang Yang

Brian Kendrick has a new look an a big, black ugly body guard called Ezekiel.

VERDICT: 1/5 This was a good match! Fast paced and lots of fast high flying moves. Hopefully this means Kendricks days of jobbing to everyone!

Forth match: Mr. Kennedy Vs Umaga

Umaga pins Mr. Kennedy after the Sumoan spike.

VERDICT: 1/5 Umaga pretty much dominated Kennedy from the start. It was like a long squash match! Only Kennedy’s showmanship kept this match from being a total washout!

Fifth match: John Morrison & The Miz Vs Jesse & Festus

Miz pins Jesse after the reality check.

VERDICT: 1/5 A reasonably entertaining match. The whole thing had a “why?” feel to it though. A bit of a waste of time really!

Sixth match: Jeff Hardy Vs Matt Hardy

They both head out to the ring together and on the way down stop to throw the wedding cake over Chavo Guerrero.

No contest because La Familia intterupts and starts to beat down the Hardys.

VERDICT: 0/5 The match itself was great! It was and turning in to a fantastic match until some genius decided it would be a good idea to have La Familia come in and ruin everything! This is unbelievable!!!!

The wedding lot are now in the ring and Edge is talking some crap and presents a video to Vicky. The video is a crap romance thing staring himself and Vicky. Triple H comes out and interrupts the video and shows a video of his own.

Triple H shows a video of Edge talking with the weddiing planner about the wedding. As the video goes on it’s obvious Edge is wanting some of the planner and he gets it! The video ends with the 2 of them getting it on! Vicky obviously goes nuts and the show ends on that note.

VERDICT: 3/5 This was a great segment! I thought it was really funny! Triple H and Edge should both be actors! The facial expressions were fantastic! I was cheering for Edge to kiss her!

OVERALL VERDICT: 1/5 The show was a total waste of time right up till the end! The Edge kissing the wedding planner thing was great! Rest of the show sucked though!
