WWE Raw - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - 30-06-08

Raw starts off this week with a message from Shane McMahon. Apparently they’re not going to disclose Vince’s condition because he is a private man.

The actual Raw show starts off with J.R giving a speech about how excited he is to be going to Smackdown and thanks everyone for their support etc.. He’s getting a huge reaction from his home crowd! Then as you would expect (WWE always seem to do something to poor J.R in his hime town!) Edges music hits and Edge, along with Hawkins and Ryder come down to the ring.

Edge tells J.R that no one cares about him or what he thinks and tells Hawkins and Ryder to escort him out of the ring, which they do. Edge then starts talking about how Smackdown is the better show and names a bunch of stuff Smackdown has that Raw doesn’t have, including a world champion. Then he says that unless there’s another draft that people will never see a championship on Monday nights again.

Just as he’s heading up the ramp Batistas music hits and Batista comes out and beats the life out of Edge and leaves him out cold in the ring.

Then CM Punks music hits and Punk comes down with a referee and cashes in his money in the bank championship match! He picks Edge up and gives him a go to sleep before covering him for the 3 count! Wow! CM Punk is the new World champion!

VERDICT: 4/5 Wow! I nearly hit the roof when CM Punks music hit and he came out and won the belt from Edge! This was a fantastic way to start Raw!! I love surprises like that!

First match: Mickie James Vs Jillian Hall

Mickie James pins Jillian after the big kick she does.

VERDICT: 1/5 Ok match i suppose. Certainly nothing out of this world though!

Rey Mysterio comes out to the ring and tells everyone how happy he is to be on Raw blah blah blah when he’s interrupted by Santino Marellas music! Yay!!

Santino comes out and says that he doesn’t see what the big deal is with Mysterio! “Anyone who wears a mask is either Ugly, stupid or the batman!” He then shows a copy of WWE magazine with Mysterio on the cover and says “look at me, I’m more tall than Hornswoggle, I like cookies, booyaka”.

Santino then says that he give a picture to the editors of WWE magazine but they didn’t use it. He shows the picture and it’s him lying on his side nude holding a flower! He says if that was a poster men and women would buy it and hang it on their bedroom walls! He then lets Myeterio speak “as long as it’s in a language we can understand” and Mysterio hits him with the mic and gives him a 619.

VERDICT: 4/5 Santino is pure gold I tell you! Only he can make a segment with Rey Mysterio entertaining!

Backstage: Todd Grisham interviews CM Punk and Punk says he’s not sure if he can find the words to express what he’s feeling. J.B.L then comes up to him and challenges him for a title shot tonight. Punk accepts.

John Cena comes out to the ring and talks a bit about how he wants a title shot against punk. J.B.L. interrupts him and tells him that he’s getting a title show tonight then declares marshal law! He says he’s running things and doesn’t want John Cena in the building and has a bunch of security guys throw him out.

Second match: Ted Dibiase JR & Cody Rhodes Vs Darren Wayn & Steve Anthony (2 nobody’s)

Obviously Dibiase and Rhodes win!

VERDICT: 0/5 BORING!!

I missed what happened here but for some reason Kane is beating up Jamie Noble at ringside.

Third match: Kofi Kingston Vs Chris Jericho (intercontinental championship match)

Chris Jericho gets disqualified for grabbing Kingstons tights during a pin attempt.

VERDICT: 0/5 What the hell was this! I thought this match would be great but it was really short with a stupid crappy ending!

Backstage: Edge is blnd Ryder for loosing his belt tonight and drives off.

Forth match: CM Punk Vs J.B.L (world heavyweight championship match)

Near the end of the match John Cena appeared at the top of the ramp along with Cryme Tyme and they started beating up J.B.L’s goons outside the ring.

CM Punk beat J.B.L after hitting the GTS.

After the match CM Punk dived over the top rope on to all the guys fighting outside the ring.

VERDICT: 3/5 The match started slowly but built up pace and got pretty good! Cena and Cryme Tyme appearing at the end was good and then Punk jumping over the top rope on to the goons was cool!

OVERALL VERDICT: There’s was waaaaay to much talking this week. 4 wrestling matches in a 2 hour wrestling show isn’t really very good! Then again it was the best Raw I’ve seen in a long time! There’s was big surprises and Lot’s of entertainment all the way through it!
