WWE Raw - Knoxville, Tennessee - 04-08-08

This weeks Raw starts off with Mick Adamle saying that, well, I’m not sure what he’s saying actually! He going on about the mistakes he’s made and how he’s not liked by the fans. (That much is true, he gets seriously booed and told that he sucks) He rambles on for a while clearly reading from a script and just when he’s getting to the point and about to announce 3 championship matches tonight he’s interrupted by J.B.L. who congratulates him on making a great match last week and says he should make another great match involving himself and CM Punk at Summerslam.

Then Chris Jericho comes running out in a suit and says that he deserves a match against Punk at Summerslam. There’s plenty of talk happening now and I’m not sure what’s going on but it ends up with Adamle making a match J.B.L & Chris Jericho Vs CM Punk. Whoever pins Punk gets a title match at Summerlsam. If punk wins then neither man gets a championship match.

VERDICT: :s Way to much pointless talking! I’m not even sure what happened here! I started thinking I was watching a pantomime!

First match: Kofi Kingston Vs Paul Burchill (intercontinental match)

Kofi pins Burchill after hitting the trouble in paradise.

VERDICT: 2/5 Good match to watch! Fast paced and non stop action from the start. It didn’t last to long but still good!

Second match: Katie Lea Burchill Vs Mickie James (women title match)

Mickie James pins Katie Lea after a DDT.

After the match Beth Phoenix came out and beat up Mickie James.

Santino Marella came out to the top of the ramp to meet Beth on her way back and she grabbed his ass. Santino then very sheepishly slapped Beth’s ass.

VERDICT: 3/5 The match was awesome! Katie Lea and Mickie James can really fight! All 4 minutes of the match was non stop entertaining action, not to mention a no cost alternative to Viagra! The Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella bit was good too.

Backstage: Santino and Beth say to Mike Adamle that they should both get championship matches at summerlslam. Adamle says that there’s only room for one more championship match at summerslam. Santino then says that he wants what the “glamorous amazon” wants, to see him become champion. Beth interrupts saying that Adamle should make a women’s championship match. Santino then interrupts and says that he doesn’t want to become women’s champion, although he could if he wanted! Mike Admle makes a match Kofi Kingston & Mickie James Vs Santino & Beth phoenix. Which ever team wins gets both the intercontinental belt and woman’s championship belt.

Layla is dancing in the ring when William Regal comes out to remind everyone who he is. He is William Regal our king. Jamie Noble comes out and starts fighting with Regal.

There’s so many adverts in Raw that it’s hard to get in to the show! There’s an advert every 10 minutes nearly!

Third match: J.B.L & Chris Jericho Vs CM Punk

Before the match Adamle says that if the match isn’t over in 10 minutes then the summerslam match becomes a triple threat. Guess it’s going to be a triple threat match then!

J.B.L pins CM Punk after falling on top of him with 1 second left before the 10 minutes are up!

VERDICT: 3/5 Wow! This was the best match I’ve seen on Raw for a very long time! Loads of near pins and loads and loads of action all the way through! A fantastic match!

Shawn Michaels Interview: Shawn gives what seems like a very sincere speech about his career and all the injuries he’s suffered though out the years and that he has a valuation with his doctor on August 15th and if his doctor says that he shouldn’t wrestle again then he’s not going to! He says it’s time he put is family first.

Matt Striker is in the ring and thanks Mike Adamle for finely giving him the opportunity to compete in a match! The jokes on him though because Kanes music hits and out he comes.

Forth match: Matt Striker Vs Kane

Kane wins with a chokeslam.

After the match Kane goes round and gets a microphone. Everyone at ringside runs away as fast as they can! Kane says he’s been in a bad place lately but he’s better now because “he’s not alive, he’s dead”. He’s looking at his burlap sack while he says that!

VERDICT: 0/5 Total squash match! The Kane thing is quite interesting though.

Backstage: A long and boring interview with John Cena!

Backstage: Mike Adamle tells Kelly Kelly that next week he’s going to make Kane show everyone what’s in his burlap sack.

Fifth match:Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes Vs John Cena & Batista (Tag team championship match)

Batista pins Ted Dibiase after Batista bombing him. Cena and Batista are the new tag team champions!

After the match Cena & Batista raised the tag team belts to see who could get a bigger reaction from the crowd. The show ends with the 2 of them face to face in the ring.

VERDICT: 2/5 Wow, I didn’t see that coming! The match was good and entertaining to watch. Cena & Batista didn’t work to well as a team. Batista refused to tag in at one point and a while later Cena tagged him in by slapping his face. Good stuff!

OVERALL VERDICT: 2/5 A good entertaining Raw all in all! Adamle as general manager rules! Since the draft Raw has gone from boring and predictable to exciting an unpredictable!
