WWE Raw - Bakersfield, California - 02-06-08

This weeks Raw starts off with Triple H coming to the ring and talks about the age of Orton being dead because of him etc then John Cena comes out and I’m not sure what he was talking about but I think he was trying to say that he’s challenging him to a match. I think :S. Then Jeff Hardys music hits and Jeff joins them in the ring and says that he thinks he’s in line for a title shot so takes it on himself to make a match between himself and John Cena and who ever wins faces Triple H for the title.

Vince appears on the titan tron and says that he knows what people want. He says that people want the details about him giving away one million dollars cash NEXT WEEK! (I thought it was supposed to be this week!) He then comes up with a match between Jeff Hardy and John Cena tonight and the winner will face Triple H at Night Of Champions.

First match: Mr. Kennedy Vs Umaga

Mr. Kennedy wins by count out .

After the match Paul Burchill attacks Kennedy from behind.

VERDICT: 0/5 Wasn’t an exciting match at all!

Mr.McMahon comes out and welcomes everyone to “Mr. McMahon’s money mania” and then introduces a million dollars in cash and some guy carrying the money in a glass case comes out. There’s a lot of hype going as as they change the money from one glass box to another glass box. Now he tells everyone how they can participate in having a chance to winning the money.

To win the money all you have to do is register at WWE.COM. He says the only stipulation is that you have to be a united states national so that might be a problem for some people from Bakersfield! The crowd loved that

Then he goes on to say why he’s giving away all this money. He says that he’s giving away money to attract more viewers to Raw. He talks about how some people look down on WWE and WWE fans so he wants to reward people that tune in to WWE.

VERDICT: 3/5 Brilliant! I was expecting something really stupid here, and although it is something pretty stupid (just a raffle) the honesty behind it was very refreshing! I’d rather the improved the shows to get the ratings up but at least they’re admitting the ratings are low! Vince was great tonight too!

Second match: Santino Marella & Carlito Vs Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes announces a special guest time keeper. Rowdy Roddy Piper!

Santino pins Hardore Holly because of an accidental distraction by Roddy Piper.

VERDICT: 1/5 Pretty short uneventful match. Santino actually got to do some wrestling though and didn’t look a total fool like he does in most of his matches.

Backstage: Todd Grisham interviews Santino Marella. “Rob Grishams, it’s nice for you to see me” Santino did his usual funny talk and made fun of cousin Sal and was entertaining as always.

Backstage again: Chris Jericho says that he hasn’t been defending the Intercontinental championship as much as he would like but that’s going to end tonight because he’s going to defend it against J.B.L.

Third match: J.B.L Vs Chris Jericho (intercontinental championship match)

Chris Jericho wins by DQ after J.B.L tried to hit him with a chair.

After the match Jericho got a hold of the chair and was about to hit J.B.L with it but didn’t.

VERDICT: 2/5 It was a good match up until the point J.B.L got DQ’d.

Forth match: Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea Vs Melina & Mickie James

Katie Lea pins Mickie James.

After the match Paul Burchill comes out to congratulate Katie Lea but is jumped from behind and beaten up by Mr. Kennedy.

3/5 I loved this match! It was vicious for a divas match and there was plenty of action! Even a Melina chant broke out in the crowd as she went nuts on Beth Phoenix.

Kennedy coming out and hammering Burchill after the match was cool too!

Cryme Tyme come out and walk over to the money and then go backstage again. Why??

Fifth match: Lance Cade Vs Trevor Murdoch

Murdoch starts the match by singing a song.

Lance Cade wins with a sit down powerbomb.

Verdict: 1/5 Pretty short match where nothing happened except Trevor Murdoch got his ass kicked!

Sixth match: Jeff Hardy Vs John Cena

Some fan jumped in to the ring and the match stopped for a few minutes while the security got a hold of him and took him away. Haha brilliant!

John Cena pins Jeff Hardy after the FU.

After the match Triple H comes out and him and Cena stand nose to nose.

VERDICT: 3/5 Brilliant match! It had everything a good match should have. It was fast paced with lots of physical action adn back and forth with lots of counters. Very enjoyable match to watch!

OVERALL VERDICT: 2/5 There was nothing very spectacular about this weeks Raw but it was entertaining all the way through! I don’t really know what else to say about it other than that!
