WWE Judgment Day - Omaha, Nebraska - 18-05-08

Not much time wasting going on tonight. After a bit of a recap of the Undertaker and Edge feud and Triple H and Orton feud we go straight in to a match!

First match: J.B.L Vs John Cena

John Cena pins J.B.L after a very sudden FU.

VERDICT: 0/5 This match started badly, began to tail off in the middle and the less said about the end the better! John Cena was being completely murdered by J.B.L but still managed to win after 1 FU. That FU was pretty much the only offence Cena put up the entire match! Poor way to start the show!

Second match: John Morrison & The Miz Vs CM Punk & Kane (WWE tag team championship match)

John Morrison pins CM Punk.

VERDICT: 2/5 This was a pretty good match! It was non stop action from start to finish! Very quick paced and just non stop! The end was a bit anti-climatic though!

Third match: Shawn Michaels Vs Chris Jericho

Shawn Michaels pins Chris Jericho with a small package.

VERDICT: 5/5 This match by it’s self was worth buying Judgment day!It was fast paced and slow paced, aggressive and technical, back and fourth loads of sudden countering and sudden moves and to round it off nicely the two guys shook hands after it. Superb stuff!

Backstage: Todd Grisham interviews Mickie James and asks her how her night out with John Cena went. Before she can answer J.B.L shows up and tells her to leave. Todd asks him about being beaten by John Cena and J.B.L tells him that he just beat Cena for 20 straight minutes and if Todd ever asks him a stupid question like that again he’ll show him what a fight is!

Forth match: Beth Phoenix Vs Melina Vs Mickie James (women’s championship match)

Mickie James pins Melina.

VERDICT: 4/5 WOW!! What the hell has come over the women’s division?? The only complaint I’ve got about this match is it was to short! It was aggressive and full of action! Beth Phoenix had Melina on her shoulders then got a hold of Mickie and had the 2 of them on her shoulders at the same time! Very impressive! Go the girls!

Fifth match: Edge Vs The Undertaker (WWE heavy weight championship match)

The Undertaker wins by count out.

Vicky comes out and says the championship can’t be won by count out so the Undertaker isn’t the new champion and the championship is still vacant!

VERDICT: 2/5 It was a good match but not as good at the last two matches these guys have had! It was as though they ran out of ideas to make things exciting. The end made the whole thing pointless though.

When Vicky came out she got some serious heat from the crowd! Real serious heat! Good!

M.V.P comes out to protest that he’s not on the card tonight! He insists on having a match tonight and challenges anyone in the back to come out and expel him from the ring. Matt Hardy comes out and says he’s got someone he can wrestle. Enter Jeff Hardy. This should be great!

Sixth match: M.V.P Vs Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy wins with the Whisper In The Wind.

VERDICT: 1/5 Not the classic I was hoping for! Pretty boring match I thought. It was mostly M.V.P attacking Jeff’s shoulder. Flop!

Nice to see Jeff Hardy back and winning matches though. I thought he be relegated to fighting Funaki and jobbing to everyone after his Wellness policy violation.

Seventh match: Randy Orton Vs Triple H (WWE championship steel cage match)

VERDICT: 0/5 This was your typical standard match. I don’t know what was the point in having a cage around the ring because apart from blocking the view it had no part in the match. Not main event quality at all! Actually this shouldn’t have even been used as a dark match! What really pissed me off though was that it was amazingly obvious from the start that Triple H was going to win it because Orton could have easily got out of the cage at least 9 times (that I noticed) but he had to slow down to a snails pace or stop completely so Triple H could get a hold of him. It was a badly preformed match with zero excitement in it what so ever! It was utter crap and a total rip off!

While I’m in a complaining mood Ortons pants got pulled down showing some of his ass. Why can’t that ever happen in a Diva match huh???

OVERALL VERDICT: 2/5 It was a below average show overall. The main event was a joke! Jeff Hardy Vs M.V.P wasn’t very good either but seeing that was like a bonus match I’ll let it slip. The show ended as it started with a rubbish match at both ends of the show. The in between matches were average at best except for HBK Vs Y2J and the divas match.
