Floyd “money” Mayweather Vs Big Show At Wrestlemania 2008

Floyd “money” Mayweather Vs Big Show is going to be the biggest car crash of Wrestlemania 2008! I had never heard of Floyd Mayweather before No Way Out, i thought he was a rapper or something. Anyway, this is the story so far in the Floyd “money” Mayweather Vs Big Show at Wresltemania farce.

It all started at No Way Out when Floyd “money” Mayweather came to the rescue of Rey Mysterio and stop Big Show from giving him a doing. I’m going in to what happened, if you didn’t see it go here wwe-no-way-out-las-vegas-nevada-17-02-08 and read my review of it.

This was really well done and looked so convincing that i thought the plan had gone out the window and what happened was real! Both guys did a good job of selling it and it looked like it was going to be a good feud. Mayweather did such a good job of selling it that he actually did break Big Shows nose!

The next night on Raw the 2 of them met in the ring again and this is where the plot started to go down hill. Again, I’m not going in the details so if you missed it read my review wwe-raw-anaheim-california-18-02-08.

It was around about the time that “money” Mayweather opened his mouth that it started to look like this might not live up to expectations. He showed the world that not only is he small in stature but small in charisma as well. I wasn’t impressed by his performance one bit. He had a terrible “this is fake and I’m trying to act here” look about him all the way through it! He even managed to make the high point of it when he accepts Big Shows challenge at wrestlemania look awful! He went right up to Big Show, stood face to nipple with him and said “I accept!” with a quick and forceful breath in a way that was supposed to be climactic and show how much guts this little man has and how tough he is standing up to someone over a foot taller than him.

He made such a balls of it! It looked so corny and pre-planned. The Big Show did his part very well but Floyd Mayweather blew it! But this is the WWE and Donald Trump didn’t exactly do a fantastic acting job last year either so it could have passed with out doing much harm to the feud if that was the lowest point of it.

Then came the Wrestlemania press conference. Not Only did Floyd keep up his bad acting but he decided to do his own publicising aswell. I think this is where the “money” in Floyd “money” Mayweather was born. He bragged about how he was getting 20 million dollars for this match and how he was worth every penny of it because he’s the main event and best fighter in the world and all that and threw money in to a crowd of people to sell the fact that he has lots of money.

Then came disaster number 2 in this feud. Big Show came out and stood with Mayweather and they thrash talked each other for a while when Floyd did something that can only inspire wonder… He wanted to be eye to eye with Big Show so he stood up on a table showing to the world that even when standing on a table he’s only a few inches taller than Show. As if that wasn’t bad enough Big Show then put his fist next to Floyds head and the world saw that Shows fist is nearly the size of Mayweathers head!

I’m not sure what the intended purpose of all this was but what it did for me was make the whole thing absurd! Any realism that could have been got from these to fighting each other went right out the window at the Wrestlemania press conference! I don’t care how tough you are, how crazy you are, how much guts you’ve got or how much money you have there’s no way anyone can realistically take on and win against someone that they could fit inside of!

So after this it now looks like an uncharismatic mouse is taking on an a very charismatic elephant!

Wait though it gets worse! Much much worse!….

The week after that on Raw, if you missed it here you go wwe-raw-indianapolis-indiana-03-03-08 the Big Show took on a boxer the same size as Mayweather and destroyed him!

That’s not the bad bit though. The bad stuff happened when Floyd Mayweather appeared on the titantron and him and Show had a bit of an argument. This was a total disaster! If Mayweather had put a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger it would have looked better than this “promo”.

He sat there with out much of a clue as to what he was supposed to be saying. When he did manage to say anything he said it while Big Show was talking. The things that he did say either made no sense or he repeated the same things over and over again.

He said “last time i broke your nose, next time I’m going to break your jaw” about 5 times. He asked show “I’m willing to die are you?” 3 times. Then he went off in to a world of his own and said “get the jet ready! get the jet ready!” while waving his hands around, and the one that baffled me most was “let the dogs out!” Huh???

Unfortunately for us all it didn’t end there! Later that same night J.R. and Jerry Lawler did an interview with Mayweather and that was just as big a disaster as before is not worse! He didn’t answer a single question that was asked, instead we banged on about himself and just to prove how dumb he is he tried to put Jerry Lawler in his place by saying “You can’t talk to me like that, I’m the real king!”

So this is what the WWE has to work with and make seem interesting:

1 - A boxer Vs a wrestler. They’ve done it before and it wasn’t popular with the fans. WWE fans want wrestling not boxing.

2 - Floyd Mayweather has zero mic skills!

3 - Mayweather is supposed to be the fan favorite in this match but he’s getting booed.

4 - The size difference between Mayweather and Big Show is so huge that unless Big Show squashes Mayweather in about 12 seconds the fight will look fake.

As if all that isn’t bad enough we still don’t know what type of match these two are going to have!

How in the hell are the WWE going to make this one work??
